Thinking of going to 16/43 gears for the 14r. Was wondering who makes the best gears as a set, and a ball park pricing for the set?

Rook am looking at Superprox steel front and rear to eliminate wear..can't believe Kawasaki put an aluminum rear on this powerful bike....
Just want to get quicker low speed acceleration and not lift the front tire if possible.....faster passing on the interstate etc.......is this the best street combo for that?

The 2012 ZX-14R does not come with an aluminum sprocket. It comes with a 42 tooth steel sprocket. Do yourself a favor and leave it alone. I rarely drive on the interstate because the nearest one is 100 miles east but I can not picture myself having to shift down into fifth to pass another vehicle. The R has plenty of passing power in 6th gear as long as you are at 50 or so. Just saying.

16F/43R will give you all that plus some.

I have always run aluminium. Never a issue.

Ok I stand corrected thought it was aluminum, did not check it. Will not ride at 160 t0 185 mph speeds....but 100 to 130 is always around the corner....lots of traffic on the interstate and like to move around those long truck convoys quickly..also ride the back country roads and wanted a little quicker punch. Thought the gearing change would allow that..I know the rpm's will always be a bit higher and less fuel economy....but wanted to use more of the 210 HP and feel the quicker acceleration at lower speeds....
May keep it stock.....
Thanks for the info on the aluminum rear sprocket/

I'd change the front to 16 Vortex steel and get the black hardened alluminum.I have them both made by Vortex. The rear I got at 58cycle.com.I think it was $58.I have a 09 Monster but I think their the same.
